The landscape manipulations of civil engineering inspired the master plan and building design of this training and research center designed by Scott while at Samoo Architects and Engineers. The training center and dormitory are situated on the west of the site (foreground); research and materials testing take place on the eastern end. The whole complex straddles a ridge with access required on both sides. The connecting road generates a series of arcs and embankments that anchor the buildings into the topography.
