Sketch project for a boathouse for the East River based on an urban concept pocket space by Sky Mountain Architects.
Walking/jogging/cycling paths encircle the kayak club building. A double-height vitrine reveals newly finished kayaks suspended on slings above the workshop. The cafe inside looks across the river to the Manhattan skyline, and down to the lagoon of the kayak club.
Storage is provided in low circular forms integrated into the landscape.
