With information and capital nearly in world-wide circulation, it is difficult to “work locally” without “thinking globally.” In many places much of what was home has already been demolished.
This seminar examines alternative practices and new paradigms of context, alternative because emerging urban centers [Dubai, Shanghai, Mumbai…] are building at a rate which eclipses the design professional’s traditional models of contextual practice.
