Lantern for high-end fashion.

Seoul, South Korea.

In juxtaposition to the surrounding castle-like fashion houses of Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein, our building is conceived as a translucent lantern. It is partially draped with a stone “jacket” that hangs towards the street to take advantage of the lateral visibility lent by the curve in the road (the elbow of Abkujoongno, an exclusive shopping boulevard in Seoul). A cantilevering deck and sandblasted curved metal wall signal the street level entry. At night the glow of the box escapes through the open jointing of the stone.
